We are a local florist in the DC Metro area that has been in business since 1976, providing fresh blooms, indoor and outdoor plants, inclusive of ecological maintenance services. We provide plant installations, exterior & interior scaping services, as well as design high-end fresh florals, custom décor & furniture for weddings, special events, private residences, and corporations.

Owning a vintage VW flower bus has been a lifelong dream for our owner, Steve Ornstein. An avid car enthusiast for over 40 years, he has combined his passions for vintage automobiles, flowers, and plants, to create a mobile flower and plant shop. Finding the perfect vintage VW bus was the first step on this journey; however, refurbishing it was definitely a time-consuming process. After more than a year in production, the vintage VW flower bus has finally become a reality.

Plants & Blooms

Our plants are cultivated in our Gaithersburg studio and our flowers are locally grown and sourced. We take great pride in providing air-purifying plants that are pet-friendly, kid safe, and easy to maintain. Custom orders and pre-orders are available for pick-up at our markets!

Having trouble with a plant?

Bring your plant, leaf, or picture with you during your visit and our Plant Doctor will provide you with a complimentary consultation.

We also provide in-home and office plant maintenance services. Our services include design, installation, and guaranteed plant maintenance.

The Blooming Bus has potential to go anywhere, we will not only be at local farmer’s markets, you can also find us at special events. With its ability to transform from a mobile flower shop to a photo booth, we will transform your special event to a whole new level. Imagine allowing your guests the opportunity to create their own floral bouquets or taking photos surrounded by lush, gorgeous flowers.
